Threads is a new app developed by the Instagram team that allows users to share text updates and participate in public conversations. It is a separate space for real-time updates and discussions, expanding on Instagram's photo and video-sharing platform.
Threads aim to create a positive and creative environment for expressing ideas, where users can follow and connect with friends and creators who share their interests.
The app requires users to log in using their Instagram account, and their username and verification will carry over. Users have the option to customize their profile specifically for Threads. Safety features available on Instagram, such as screen reader support and AI-generated image descriptions, are also enabled on Threads.

Yea I tried it out and got 100+ followers in a couple of hours
People will be able to amass a huge following in just an hour because of the seamless approach to signing up with your already existing Instagram profile.
You can choose to follow the same accounts you do on Instagram and find more people who care about the same things you do
Posts on Threads can be up to 500 characters long and include links, photos, and videos up to 5 minutes in length. The app provides a feed that contains threads posted by people you follow and recommended content from new creators.
Feeds On Threads
The Threads feed consists of posts from the people you follow and captivating content from undiscovered creators. Each post can be up to 500 characters and include links, photos, and videos of up to 5 minutes. Moreover, sharing a Threads post to your Instagram story is effortless, and you can share your post as a link on any platform you choose

Users can control who can mention them or reply to their threads. Like Instagram, they can add hidden words to filter out replies containing specific terms. The app allows users to unfollow, block, restrict, or report profiles.

One significant aspect of Threads is its plan to become compatible with the ActivityPub protocol, an open social networking protocol established by the World Wide Web Consortium.
This compatibility will enable connections with other apps that support the protocol, such as Mastodon and WordPress. It aims to create diverse and interconnected networks, allowing users to follow and interact with Threads users without requiring a Threads account.
This opens up opportunities for businesses to reach new audiences effortlessly.

How Can Businesses Take Advantage Of Threads
Businesses can use Threads by creating engaging and informative threads that attract potential customers. By sharing updates, news, and valuable content within the Threads community, companies can increase their visibility and connect with users interested in their products or services.
Looking To The Future
The app's interoperability with other platforms allows for wider reach and exposure. By aligning with ActivityPub, Threads allows businesses to join a growing ecosystem of interconnected services, giving them a greater chance to find and engage their target audience, regardless of the app they use.
The Big Question? What Does This Mean For Twitter & Elon?

If you have been following "Tech-Twitter" or any notable tech content creators, you should have heard of the "Billionaire Brawl" between Elon Musk & Mark Zuckerberg.
I highly doubt this supposed cage match will come on. But Hey!! we are here for all the fun.
- Back to Meta & Twitter
According to Instagram's CEO, Adam Mosseri, Twitter's "volatility" and "unpredictability" during Musk's leadership paved the way for competition. In an interview, Mosseri highlights that Threads focuses on facilitating "public conversations," directly alluding to Twitter executives' long-standing description of the platform's purpose.
Meta has long been planning the release of Threads, their self-described "sanely run" version of Twitter. Internal company documents reveal that the recent backlash to Musk's decision to limit the number of tweets people can see daily was a pivotal event that prompted them to launch the app this week. These documents also indicate that Meta anticipates "tens of millions" of people trying out Threads within the initial months of its availability. - The verge
Is This The End Of Twitter?

While I don't believe this spells the end for Twitter, Threads present a significant challenge, especially given the ongoing rapid transformations happening on Twitter. Although Threads has had some initial success, it remains uncertain whether it will surpass Twitter in prominence and cultural significance.
Instagram's Threads bursts out of the gate with more than 30 million sign-ups

Is the beginning promising? Indeed, but with over 1.3 billion Instagram users alone, that figure is bound to rise further. Some argue it's just the initial excitement, while others believe individuals will eventually return to Twitter or perhaps utilize both platforms in distinct ways.
What do you think?
What are you doing?
Will Go Back To Twitter
